99 & The 2000s
It’s 2025, almost 2026. We are closer and closer to 2030 than we ever were before! It feels like a dream.
While that’s awesome—But Why does it feel like we are Regressing?—Like there’s been such a Revival of 2000s, early 2000s specifically which I don’t mind! It’s such an Interesting Time at least from an American’s Perspective. The Fashion, the Music, the Culture, The Recession, it’s such a crazy time.
What I don’t understand is Mega Corporations referencing the 2000s constantly. I’m not saying they can’t, but they’ve always referenced different years as well. I keep seeing the 2000s & Y2K in ads, “Party like 1999 & Save money like it too!” For an Example. I just think it’s interesting how Some Companies are reaching back to the 99 & the 2000s to get Sales. I guess you could argue that because the prices in America have gone up so High, when companies make meta jokes in their advertising about how cheap it was back then, it shows how terrible things are now.
I guess. The US is Trillions of dollars in debt. A lot of people didn’t rebound from 2008. Or Katrina. It’s not easy to simply buy things like 1999, things are different. All we can hope for is things to Change so everyone can party like it’s 2003 while being in 2025.
